Typical bird of the subspecies Erithacus rubecula marionae, endemic to Gran Canaria Island. It is not so reddish in the breast compared with E. r. superbus (= E. superbus). The capture of this and other birds in the mentioned protected area was undertaken with special permission from the Government of the Canary Islands and Cabildo Insular de Gran Canaria.
