Dacht even aan een Spaanse Keizerarend...:-), gaaf, wat deed je daar? Leuke wintersoorten?

Not my best image but this might be a very rare vagrant for Greece. I photographed this immature fulvescens Great Spotted Eagle at Lake Kerkini, Greece on feb 5. Id agreed by Dick Forsman and Nils van Duivendijk. Seems to be a very rare bird in Europe (but on the increase) but like to find out exact status in Europe and Greece. Anyone an idea?
The reply from Nils: a good fulvescens indeed! A 'second winter', photographed in 2018 so it would be a 3rd year bird'. And the reply from Dick Forsman: “Definitely a younger fulvescens. Seems to be on the increase. After only 1 or 2 records in the past in Finland, we now have had 1-3 birds each year for the past 4-5 years (not the same ones returning), maybe something temporary, maybe not?” |
