Omdat er geen foto's van Stone Partridge of Nahan's Partridge op de website staan, maar even hier.

Doordat ik recent de vrij algemene Stone Partridge in Senegal gezien heb, was ik benieuwd of iemand een leuk artikeltje weet die uitleg geeft over de evolutionaire geschiedenis van Odontophoridae en hoe Ptilopachus in Afrika terecht is gekomen. Toch erg interessant om te zien dat er twee "New World" Quails in Afrika rondlopen.

IOC geeft als commentaar bij Stone Partridge: "Ptilopachus partridges of Africa are more closely related to New World quails (Odontophoridae) and in turn to the guineafowl (Numididae) than to members of Phasianidae (Crowe et al. 2006; Crowe 2010; Cohen et al. 2012)."
